Training without a connection
Log your sets on your phone. Keep the app until the session has synced.
My workouts
You can create as many workouts as you like: their number is not limited.
Explore and programs
- “Explore”, on the Workout tab, brings together Kleo’s exercises, workouts and programs. A workout or a program you add becomes your copy: name, exercises, order, sets, reps and rests are yours to change.
- A program groups several of your workouts to repeat every week, with days if you want them. Deleting a program keeps its workouts in “My workouts”.
- To share a program: its options → “Share the program”. Whoever receives the link can add it to their programs; you turn the link off whenever you like.
- A workout or a program can also be sent straight to a friend, in the app: they are told in their notifications and open it by the same link, to add it if they want. Only your friends can receive it.
- Kleo’s programs and workouts are written by Kleo on the recognised principles of research-based training: volume per muscle, effort measured in repetitions in reserve, progressive loading, cycles that end on a lighter week. They are not medical advice: if you feel pain, are injured or have doubts about your health, ask a professional.
Your account and data
Open Settings → Account to export your training or request account deletion.
Friends and privacy
Only accepted friends can be added as companions. A companion’s history is never copied.
The Arena and your gym
- In the Arena tab, “Choose my gym” offers the gyms of the directory: look them up by name and city. You can belong to up to five gyms (leave one to join a sixth) and switch between them with “Your gyms”, under the name of the gym; each keeps its own feed, rankings and titles, and nothing passes from one to another.
- The arena of a gym opens once three members have joined it. Until then, you can invite whoever you like with “Share invitation”, or your friends right in the app. An arena that has opened never closes.
- During the test phase, “Choose my gym” also offers the testers’ arena (L’arène des testeurs), open from the start.
- A gym’s feed also tells the unique titles won there and the new ranks its members reach.
- When you leave a gym, what you published there no longer shows in its feed.
- Under each reply of a discussion, and under each comment of a session: “Like” in a touch; a long press (on the comment or on “Like”) to choose an emoji instead — one reaction per person; “Quote” to reply with that comment shown above yours. Its author is told of the quote. Touching the emojis under a comment shows who reacted.
The machines of your gyms
- Your exercise library keeps all of Kleo’s exercises and adds brand machines to them: all those of the brands you ticked, those at least two members of one of your gyms trained on there over the last 90 days, and any machine you put in a workout or a program, or trained on in a session. The others are found by choosing their brand in the filters. A machine’s brand logo is at the bottom right of its picture.
- The first time you open Explore, or create a workout or a program, Kleo asks for your gyms’ brands: one list, for all your gyms. « My gyms’ brands », at the top of the exercises, opens it again whenever you want. Only the brands whose machines Kleo has are offered.
- A session counts for the gym your Arena shows when it is saved; you can choose another of your gyms when you finish it. Each machine keeps its own loads and records. Brand machines do not count for ranks.
Your location
When you open “Choose my gym”, Kleo asks for your approximate location, to show the gyms near you first (within 50 km when you have typed nothing) and say how far they are. Your phone rounds it to about a kilometre; we store it nowhere. If you decline, the search works without it. Access can be withdrawn in your phone’s settings.
Performances and unique titles
- To go for a unique title, submit your performance with its video from the Arena (“Submit performance”); the rules of each event are under “See the event rules”.
- The members of your gym vote: validate, ask for another video or refuse the attempt. A performance is validated with at least three yes votes, and twice as many yes votes as requests for another video and refusals together. A refusal never closes the attempt: you can send a new video, and the votes start again from zero. A member can vote anonymously: the vote is then signed “Anonymous reviewer”.
- A validated performance is a record of your gym for thirty days from its validation. The title goes to the best record still counting; on a tie, its holder keeps it. A record only counts in the gym it was sent from.
- Hermes (men) and Artemis (women) are given on the 1st of each month at noon, Paris time, to the most steps of the month before, in the gyms whose arena was open; they are kept the whole month.
Your steps
On your profile, the “Your steps over 30 days” card connects Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android). Kleo only reads the number of steps of each day, without steps typed by hand. Your average over the last thirty days is visible to everyone if your profile is public; a private profile hides it and leaves the steps ranking of your gym. “Disconnect my steps” erases everything Kleo received; access itself is withdrawn in Health or Health Connect.
Your weight
In “Edit my profile”, “Weight from Health” (iPhone) or “Weight from Health Connect” (Android) brings into Kleo the weighings of your scale or those you note in the health app: the last of each day, from the last 30 days and then as new ones come. Your profile shows the latest weight, whether you entered it in Kleo or weighed it; your sessions are rated with the weight of their day. Disconnecting erases the weighings received; your weight goes back to the last one you entered.
Your watch
Kleo runs on Apple Watch and on Wear OS watches. Open Kleo on your watch to link it to your account: signing in with Apple or Google happens on the phone, which must stay close. Your workouts are there and you log your session on it; it then shows on your phone. Your heart rate and calories stay on your watch (and in Health, on Apple Watch): they are never sent to us. Settings → “My watch” says whether it is linked and lets you unlink it; sessions already saved are kept.
Contact support
For a question, a problem or a request about your account or your data: contact@kleo-app.com. Tell us your username and, if something went wrong, what you were doing when it happened.
Delete your account
- In the app: Profile tab, settings button at the top right, Account, then “Delete my account”. Kleo asks you to confirm your identity with Apple or Google, then deletes your account.
- Without the app: write to us at contact@kleo-app.com with your username. We check that the request really comes from you before deleting anything.
Your profile and your sessions disappear from the app at once; your data and your files are erased from our systems within hours, 30 days at most. The details, and what is kept longer, are in the privacy policy.
Get your training back
In the settings, “Export my data” prepares a ZIP archive of your sessions and workouts — a complete JSON file and CSV tables —, with your life in the community and in the Arena, the history of your body weight, the reports you sent, your reminders, your devices and the list of your photos and videos. The file is private and stays available for 24 hours.
Report content, block an account
- You can report a profile, a session, a photo, a video or a comment from where you see it, with “Report”.
- You can block an account from its profile. You no longer see anything of each other; the list of blocked accounts is in the settings.
- If you do not have the app, write to us at contact@kleo-app.com and describe what you saw.
Report illegal content without an account
Write to contact@kleo-app.com and tell us: where the content is (the account’s username, the date of the session or of the comment), why you think it is illegal, your name and e-mail address, and a sentence confirming that your report is sincere and accurate. Your name is not needed when the report is about child sexual abuse. We acknowledge receipt, look into the report and tell you what we decided.
Reminders and notifications
Reminders are set in the app, days and time. You can turn them off there, or in your phone’s settings.
If your phone allows Kleo’s notifications, it also tells you what happens around you: a friend request, a like or a comment on one of your sessions; a comment or a reply that quotes yours; the session a friend has just finished, with its name, its length, its volume, its sets and its records; a unique title taken by a member of your gym or by a friend; a friend’s new rank; what happens to your performances and your titles in the Arena. Your friends are told of your sessions only if your profile and the session are public. In Settings → Notifications, three switches choose what reaches your phone: your friends’ sessions; titles and ranks; activity (likes, comments, friend requests). Everything stays in the app’s notifications. To receive nothing at all, turn off Kleo’s notifications in your phone’s settings.
Point of contact
Our single point of contact, for members and for authorities alike (European Digital Services Act, Articles 11 and 12): contact@kleo-app.com. You can write to us in French or in English; a person answers you.
