1. Who provides Kleo
Kleo is a mobile training log published by Devlinker, a French société par actions simplifiée unipersonnelle (SASU) with a share capital of 1 000 €, 9 rue des Colonnes, 75002 Paris, RCS Paris 999 825 144 (“we”). To write to us: contact@kleo-app.com. Our full legal notice is on the Help & support page.
By creating an account or using Kleo, you accept these terms and the community rules they contain.
2. What Kleo does
Kleo lets you build workouts, log your sessions, follow your progress and share your sessions with other athletes. In the Arena, you join your gym, talk with its members and can have your performances reviewed.
The app is free: nothing can be bought in it today. If a paid offer is ever proposed, its price and its conditions will be shown to you before any purchase.
### The Arena
- Your gyms. You choose them from Kleo's directory; you can join up to five, each with its own arena, and the Arena shows you the one you chose. You can join another or leave one whenever you like. What you posted in a gym no longer appears in its feed once you leave it; nothing moves from one gym to another.
- Its arena. A gym’s arena opens when three different accounts have joined the gym. Until then, its members see who is already there and can invite; its feed, its rankings, its performances and its titles open with it. An invitation is a link you share: opening it joins nobody, and only the accounts that join the gym count towards its opening. Once open, the arena never closes again, even if members leave. The opening gives neither a title nor a reward.
- Its feed. Your finished public sessions appear in it on their own, in the feed of each of your gyms whose arena is open; a private session, or the sessions of a private profile, do not. Your discussions and your replies are read by the members of your gym. The feed also tells, by itself, each unique title won in the gym and each new rank reached by one of its members, even with a private profile: titles and ranks are seen in the Arena.
- Its rankings. The podium and the ranking of your gym order the members of your category by their progression rank; at the same rank, the first to reach it comes first. The ranking of an event orders verified performances; at an equal score, the first verified comes first. Relative-strength scores are computed by Kleo, with a body-weight correction inspired by the IPF coefficients: it is an adaptation of Kleo's own, never a performance recognised by the IPF or by any federation.
- Your performances. You may send a performance with a video of yourself. The video shows the real performance, in full, unedited, and nobody but you performs it. For a relative-strength event, you enter your real body weight at the time of the attempt: that is the one the score is computed with and that is shown beside it, not the one in your profile, which sending does not change. The members of your gym watch the video and vote, once each: verify it, ask for another video, or refuse the attempt when it does not follow the rules of the event — saying why in both cases. A member may change their vote until the performance is verified. A refusal weighs like a request for another video and never closes the attempt. It is verified when at least three members verified it, with twice as many verifications as requests for another video and refusals together; voting then closes. When you are asked for another video, or your attempt is refused, you may send a new one for the same attempt — same performance, same body weight —: voting then starts again from zero, and every member may vote again on it. The earlier votes and video stay attached to the performance as long as it exists: you still see them, and so does moderation. A member may vote without their name being shown ("Anonymous reviewer"); Kleo always knows who voted. Vote honestly, on what the video shows: a vote of favour, or against someone, breaks the community rules. If you think a verification or a vote is a mistake, report it or write to us at contact@kleo-app.com: a person reviews it again.
- Unique titles. Each gym has its titles, one per event and per category. A verified performance that has a score counts for the title of its event, in the gym it was sent from. The title goes to the best performance of a member of the gym; at an equal score, its holder keeps it. A performance counts for thirty days from its verification: after that, the title goes to the best performance that still counts, or nobody holds it any more. It does not follow its holder to another gym: whoever leaves their gym loses its titles there, which go to the next best performance; if they come back, their performances count again. An event that has no score yet gives no title. A performance removed by moderation no longer counts. The decor of a title is only seen in the gym where it is held; in another, it is the frame of your rank, or a title you hold there. Your category, chosen at sign-up, no longer changes.
- Steps. The steps event is not sent by video. It ranks the members who connected their steps from their profile and whose profile is public, by the total their phone's health app counted over the last thirty days; at an equal total, the first to have connected them comes first. A total only counts if the phone sent it the same day or the day before: without news from it, its member leaves the leaderboard. The titles of Hermes and Artemis are given on the 1st of each month, at noon (Paris time), to the member of the gym who walked the most steps the month before, among those who connected their steps and whose profile is public; a day without data counts as zero; at an equal total, the holder keeps it, otherwise the first to have connected their steps. It is kept the whole month, unless its holder leaves the gym, makes their profile private or disconnects their steps: nobody then holds it until the next 1st. Made-up steps (a shaken phone, a machine) are cheating.
- Your safety first. A performance is not worth an injury: what section 4 says applies also, and above all, in the Arena. Film yourself without putting yourself, or anyone else, in danger.
3. Your account
- You sign in with your Apple account or your Google account. Kleo never asks you for a password.
- You must be at least 15 years old to create an account.
- If you are between 15 and 17, talk to your parents before signing up. They can write to us at contact@kleo-app.com with any question, or to ask for content that shows you to be removed.
- An account is personal: one account per person, one username that is yours alone. The Instagram and TikTok accounts you add to your profile must be your own.
- You are responsible for the use of your account, unless someone got into it through no fault of yours. If you think someone else has access to it, write to us.
4. Your training, your responsibility
Kleo is neither a doctor nor a certified coach. Exercise instructions and the information shown are general: they do not take your health, your level or your history into account.
Ask a health professional before starting or resuming physical activity, and stop if you feel pain or unwell. You train under your own responsibility: choose suitable loads and equipment in good condition.
5. What you publish
What you publish stays yours: your username, your photo, your sessions, your descriptions, your photos, your videos, your comments, your discussions and replies in the Arena, and the videos of your performances.
For Kleo to work, you give us a free, non-exclusive permission on this content, valid worldwide for as long as it is online: to store it on our servers, to adapt it technically — reduce a photo, convert a video, take a thumbnail from it — and to show it to other members in the app, according to the visibility you chose. Nothing else: we do not use it for advertising and we do not publish it outside the app. The permission ends when you remove the content or delete your account. What may remain of it afterwards — in our database, in our backups or in a report — is no longer shown to other members and is only kept for the periods stated in the privacy policy.
Only publish what you have the right to share. If another person can be recognised in a photo or a video, it is with their agreement — and, if they are under 18, with their parents’ agreement. A person who recognises themselves in content they did not agree to can ask us to remove it, even without an account: contact@kleo-app.com.
6. Community rules
Kleo has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Content that breaks these rules is removed, and its author may lose their account.
Kleo is a place to train. To keep it that way:
- Respect others: no harassment, no insults, no threats.
- No hate speech, no discrimination.
- No sexual or violent content.
- No spam, no scams, no advertising.
- Be yourself: do not impersonate anyone.
- Only publish photos and videos you have the right to share.
How we moderate. Photos and videos are published without prior review. An automatic filter compares usernames, comments, session names and session notes, the names and instructions of your personal exercises, Arena discussions and replies with a short list of forbidden words: a username or a comment that contains one is refused at once; a session, a personal exercise, a discussion or a reply that contains one stays visible to you alone until you have corrected it or a person on our team has reviewed it. Every other decision is made by a person.
You can report a profile, a session, a media file, a comment, a discussion, a reply, a gym or a performance, and block an account at any time. We look into every report, the oldest first. Depending on what we find, we may dismiss the report, hide or remove content, warn a member, suspend an account, or close it for a serious or repeated breach.
When a person on our team hides or removes your content, or suspends your account, we tell you in the app: what it is about, which community rule is at stake, that the decision was made by a person, and how to contest it. A suspended account reads this on the sign-in screen, since it can no longer open the app. When it is the automatic filter that holds back one of your public sessions, a message tells you so too, and says that no person made that decision. When a report sent from the app is closed, its author learns what we did about it: we took action, or we found no breach of the rules.
If content suggests that an offence threatening a person’s life or safety has been or is about to be committed, or if it falls under the offences the law requires us to report, we inform the authorities.
If you think a decision is a mistake, write to us at contact@kleo-app.com: a person looks at it again and answers you. In every case you keep the right to go to court.
7. Availability
We do our best to keep Kleo running at all times, but we cannot guarantee it: the service may be interrupted for maintenance, an outage or an update. Your sessions are saved on your phone and then synchronised; you can export your data at any time from Settings → Account → Export my data.
We may change the app: fix it, secure it, adapt it to new versions of iOS and Android, add features, or remove one that is no longer used, no longer safe or no longer allowed by law. These changes are free. If one of them takes away something important to you, we tell you in the app at least 30 days before, unless the law or security requires us to move faster; you can export your training and delete your account at any time.
8. What is ours
The app, its name and its texts belong to us. Its exercise catalogue was built from a third-party source, and its illustrations were generated for Kleo. The Arena's directory of gyms draws on the places of the Overture Maps Foundation (CDLA-Permissive-2.0 licence; some records Apache-2.0 or CC0); a gym's logo comes from its own site or, for a chain, from Wikimedia Commons, and belongs to its owner: it is shown only so that the gym is recognised. A gym that is missing or wrongly described, or that does not want its logo shown, may be reported to us. You may use Kleo for your personal use. You may not copy its content in bulk, resell it, or access the service by automated means.
9. Our liability
We answer for the damage we cause through our fault, under the conditions set by law. Kleo is free and promises no sporting result.
We do not answer for what does not depend on us: the way you train and the loads you choose, a failure of your phone or your connection, an event nobody could foresee or prevent. For what other members publish, we are a host: we do not choose that content, and we act when illegal content is reported to us.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for bodily injury caused by our fault, for gross negligence or for deceit, nor the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
10. Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete my account. Your profile and your sessions disappear from the app at once, then your data is erased as the privacy policy explains.
We may suspend or close an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, after a warning whenever possible. If we suspend your account, we tell you why, and how to contest (section 6).
11. Your data
How we handle your data is described in the Kleo privacy policy.
12. If these terms change
We may change these terms to follow changes in the app or in the law. The date at the top of the page shows the version in force; we give you earlier versions on request. If a change affects your rights or your obligations, we tell you in the app at least 30 days before it applies, unless the law or security requires us to move faster. If you do not accept it, you can delete your account before that date; continuing to use Kleo afterwards means you agree.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. If you live in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country. In case of disagreement, write to us first at contact@kleo-app.com: most difficulties are settled that way. Failing that, the competent courts are those the law designates.
These terms exist in French and in English. If they differ, the French version prevails, unless a mandatory rule of your country is more favourable to you.
14. If you got Kleo from Apple’s App Store
- These terms are concluded between you and the publisher of Kleo, as section 1 names it (“we”), and not with Apple. Apple is responsible neither for Kleo nor for its content.
- The App Store lists Kleo under the name Jacky Vigneron, holder of the developer account through which it is distributed. Its publisher, with whom these terms are concluded, is Devlinker.
- We give you a right, which you cannot transfer, to use Kleo on the Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store usage rules; members of your family can also access it through Family Sharing.
- Support and maintenance of Kleo are ours to provide. Apple has no obligation to do so.
- If Kleo fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may tell Apple, which will refund the price paid, if any; to the extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim about Kleo: defects, failure to comply with a law, consumer protection or data protection, including the use of Health.
- If someone claims that Kleo infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, answer for it.
- You state that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated by it as supporting terrorism, and that you are on none of its lists of prohibited parties.
- For any question or complaint: Devlinker, 9 rue des Colonnes, 75002 Paris, +33 6 67 44 60 95, contact@kleo-app.com.
- When using Kleo, you also comply with the third-party terms that apply to you, for example your carrier’s.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms: once you have accepted them, Apple may enforce them.
